The Relational Practices

I am excited to expand my knowledge and better serve my couple clients!

Discovering EFT

Three years ago, I took my first Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) course at the University of the West Indies for my M.Sc. Counselling Programme. I loved it. I always wanted to work with couples; this course confirmed that passion! Shortly after that course, I joined The Relational Practices and got the opportunity to start doing meaningful work with couples in Barbados and the region.

The Need for Continued Learning

Seeing couples struggle and hurt while still yearning for connection and love made me realise I needed to continue my training journey. I completed my online EFT Externship training out of Australia, which was an enriching experience! I learned alongside other professionals from all over the world.

Advanced Training and Skills

I loved this training, so I had no hesitation in continuing to explore EFT. Most recently, I completed my Core Skills Training in EFT in May 2024! With this development, I am now advanced trained in EFT! This training has equipped me with an elevated skillset, which has improved the safety I offer as a couple’s therapist. I also feel more assured in supporting couples as they grow, heal, and connect!

Looking Ahead

I couldn’t be more excited to continue this journey! The next step is getting certified by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy! Thank you to my family, supervisor, Jomo Phillips, colleagues, and the couples taking risks with me every week.
